1. Who have you played with previously? (Feel free to go in-depth)
Yeah so from 2004-2009 I played in JackViper in London and we were one of the bands that were responsible for kick starting the sleaze/glam revival in the U.K. After that I moved to Australia and did an online collaboration with guys from different bands in South Africa and the U.K callled Eightball Voodoo. We released a bunch of singles but nothing more. Then I formed Snake Bite Whisky with Stacii.
2. What have you been up to during this pandemic regarding the band?
We signed a new record deal with Sliptrick Records in Europe. We wrote and recorded our second album, Black Candy. When the pandemic hit there was a period of about 3 months where we couldn’t rehearse due to restrictions so when we could start rehearsing again we had to work to a really tight schedule to write the album and then get it recorded to submit it on time to the label. We wrote the album from scratch. There are no old tracks that we had sitting around in there because Laggy and Dan were new into the band so we wanted it to be an album from all of us.
3. How has Snakebite Whiskey been received abroad?
Fuck! the overseas fan base is phenomenal. We have a large international following both in the media and fans in fact much bigger than in Australia. It’s a truly global thing from Europe to the US to South America to Japan and it’s growing all the time.
4. What`s in the cards for the future?
We are gonna be doing a whole bunch of videos for the new album but the big thing is to get back on the road and tour. We have several international tours being booked at the moment plus our Australian tour. We are playing the Winter Metal Fest in Oslo, Norway in January and have other Festivals we are in talks with so as long as travel restrictions lift and nothing changes next year is going to be pretty fucking busy!
5. What bands/artists have inspired you the most?
Motörhead, Guns N’ Roses, Backyard Babies.
6. If you collaborated or performed with any famous artists, which ones and who were most memorable?
I’ve toured with a bunch of great bands such as L.A Guns, House Of Lords , Vixen, Hardcore Superstar and more. The one that kinda stands out the most is the tour with Vixen because they were so cool to us and treated us really well. We had no money and we’re just living of the rider and they gave us a whole lot of food and booze on the tour to make sure we were okay so that was really cool!
7. What have been the highlights in your career so far?
Yeah there have been quite a few. Playing at Cruefest at the Whisky a go go in Hollywood bcause it’s such an iconic venue. Headlining the 2nd stage at Hard Rock Hell Sleaze 2 in Sheffield, U.K. Playing in Tijuana, Mexico was a cool and wild fucking experience.
8. Do you have any collaboration with anyone else at the moment or planning any, if so, with whom?
There are a few collaborations in the works but I’m not at liberty to say who that’s going to be with right now. I can say it will be different than Snake Bite. But definitely not fucking hp-hop.
9. For the new listeners, what would you recommend them to check out first of your music?
You’ve gotta just jump straight into Black Candy. The album is an absolute fucking monster. Song wise, all of them rock but some picks are "Choke", "Thunderbird", "Sweet Cocaine", "Hammered" and "Bones" In The Fire. After that check out our debut, “This Side Of Hell” it was critically acclaimed and is another ten tracks of unrelenting, uncompromising Heavy Sleaze Metal.
