Elina Ryd
Elina Ryd grew up in a musical family where everyone practiced music in any form. She composed songs and directed the theater where the siblings Elise Ryd and Johan Carlzon had their given roles. When she was five, she had her first performance in front of large audiences. Elina continued studying music after elementary school. First on a three-year line at Hvitfeldtska School in Gothenburg, where her voice were trained to opera. She has a very wide register. After high school she went on to more Jazz primarily on Ljungkiles Folkhögskola. There, she began even more serious with piano lessons. Then it became Svalövs's College and a first CD "Luna". Luna was recognized and reviewed in the music magazine "Lira". Now, Parallel, Elina studied Musicology at the University of Gothenburg. In 2009 she released her second album "This was The only Way". When she was adopted to "Individual Musicians" by Gothenburg University, she soon in contact with the composer "David Löfberg" and became a singer in his "Midnatts Orkestern". Eventually she started even own groups including "Blue Nana" and "Red Hot Mamas." Elina Ryd is very creative and multifaceted. In 2011 she was awarded "Anders Sandrews" Scholarship in category "Jazz" and she has received much positive acclaim for her original and warm voice.
